In the old days of Pavonia, there used to be a long moving sidewalk
between the platform area and the surface access. I remember going
there once, shortly after the mall opened. You could still see the
the travellator along the side of the old passageway, but it was sort
of "hacked" at one end.

I recall reading somewhere that this was the first moving sidewalk in
regular operation in the United States.

Today a newer, diagonal passageway is used instead. The old one is
behind closed doors, possibly for emergency and/or service, but an
employee I asked a few years ago assured me that the moving walkway is
now history.
