If you ever did any flatbedding you could see where the term "belly
strap" comes from.

It is a strap that goes on the flatbed before any part of the load and
if you view an empty flatbed as a "belly" it would make sense to call
it a "belly strap."

All this bitching about what it is called and we know one thing for
sure and that is neither Richard or Tim even tried to say what it was
called because they are Idiots.

BTW If you want me to reply to any of your post you will have to start
a new thread with the Subject "Ping Your Honor" and show me some
respect in the entire post.

I have been dealing with Tim's BS about my CDL ever since he guessed
wrong about a "belly strap" on June 18, 2004 and that will now that
will be listed as his third truck related WRONG.

Wait a frigging minute. Did Roger write this? Of course he wrote it. Belly
strapping a load as I understand it, is not as it is written above. Belly
strapping a load is performed when you have layered high loads, where
strapping over the entire load over only the top of it does not provide the
stability that is needed to secure the load.

For instance, a load of plastic piping will be loaded in layers, ususally
four stacks high. When two stacks are loaded, you strap those, and then strap
again over the top tier of two stacks after they are loaded.

Or am I the one that has misunderstood the term for thirty odd years?

I flatbedded for many of those years, and that is MY understanding of the
term.

I know of no reason to lay down a strap on a trailer before anything is
loaded upon it.

You're absolutely correct about belly strapping Tony. We give RtQ too much
credit when we call him an idiot. It's insulting to true idiots when we use
that term for him.

Gee, when the original question was asked about the "belly strap"
nobody denied there was such a strap but they are now!

Thank you for that confirmation. I am always apt to be wrong about
something and will readily admit it when I am, but we now have another
issue that RTQ apparently did not learn through actual experience as a
trucker.

Quite honestly, I didn't pay any attention to it when it was raised
recently, that is until you "defined" it.

Belly strapping is a technique for securing a load, not an actual physical
strap of some sort.

And you want to have people believe that you drive a truck, and that your
first job was in the flatbedding arena?

> The Honorable Rocky 5 has spoken

Yep...volumes, that's for sure. And each one places you no closer to the
driver's seat of a truck.

If you now are supposedly driving a gasoline tanker, what do you think the
unloading hose is for? Private pleasure to dump your load?

a clue about either one.

I'm giving a lot more respect than you deserve!!

Roger GET A CLUE!!! NOBODY wants you to respond to their posts, and
quite frankly, I could care less if you respond to mine or not. But

I've laid straps and chains many many times on the trailer floor before the
load went on. I always used to do this when I was going to "choke" a load.
It was far easier to lay the chain across the trailer first instead of
trying to get it under a load especially if the trailer had a pretty good
arch in the middle.

But yes, belly strapping/chaining is to secure the bottom portion of the
load or any part of the load prior to the load being topped off.

Thank you kindly for your post Tom.

I plan to use it to show that when realitytrucker started calling me a
"liar" on June 18, 2004 it was because Richard would make it look like
"belly strap" was not the answer to the question asked.
