Found a great deal from Dell on a Canon Powershot S3 IS camera and was
wondering if anyone had any experience or opinion about them for
roadgeek shots. I've read the reviews on Amazon and ZDnet and few
others and it almost seems too good to be true.

Take care,
Rich

I'd expect better results than I have with my JVC GC-A33 model. I
spent around $80 for it while in Kuwait in 2003. It doesn't even have
a preview, so every shot is a crapshoot. I'm also limited to 640x480
size (about 307 kilopixel) if I use the standard setting allowing up to
60 shots in the memory.

I would suggest it for not only the price, but for the amount of
features that it carries and the good quality that it captures.

I used a Canon S2 IS camera for the better part of the year shooting
behind the windshield and it does a nice job so I would assume the S3
IS would be a bit better. You do get alot of bang for your buck with
that camera with regards to picture quality, features and flexibility,
plus it's a nice size...not too heavy, but large enough to get a good
grip on it. I'd say go for it!
