Of course, that isn't true for the signs at exits 5 and 18; those exits were
added in the '80s. But the signs were in pretty rough shape, to be kind.
Things I noticed about the new ones: Exit 10 (KY 416, at the only toll
booth) now has control cities listed -- Hebbardsville (to the north of the
parkway) and Niagara (to the southwest). Mileage signs no longer list just
Henderson and Owensboro but the other towns along the way as well.
Mysteriously, though, the Pennyrile Parkway exits are no longer 0A and 0B.
They have been re-numbered 1A (northbound) and 1B (southbound). Could KYTC
be considering an extension to US 41 (less than a mile away)??? Who knows?

Were they button copy? I know of some very old BGS along I-65 and the BG
Parkway that has button-copy.

I can't see the need for such an extension. Maybe there's something in
the MUTCD or elsewhere about "Exit 0."

To reply, you gotta do what NASCAR won't -- remove the restrictor plates!

Here is what I found out from Jason Ward, the KYTC DOH District 2
Resident Engineer:
"Having an exit 0 seems to cause confusion among motorist. Also the
standard system for numbering exits use a 1 in lieu of 0. That's the
only reason that we changed the numbering at the exit."
