"Smederevo - On the eve of the centenary of its existence, which will be
celebrated in 2023, the "Goša" Rail Vehicle Factory from Smederevo
Palanka is coming back to life from the brink of ruin. The production of
an [intermodal] freight wagon for transporting containers has been
launched. The first wagon of this type came out of production six months
ago, but another half year was needed for all the tests. Finally, a
month ago, a certificate was obtained, which created the conditions for
the start of serial production.

The idea of ​​reviving the factory and creating a new product appeared
in 2019 when FŽV "Goša" got a new owner, a related factory from
Smederevo - "Želvoz 026", which the same owner also bought from
bankruptcy in May 2017, and which after continued to do so and expanded
the market. According to the general director of "Goša" Saša
Stanisavljević, because the Palanac giant had a reputation, the new
management did not want to be reduced to some kind of branch of the
Smederevo factory.
