On a recent trip on the LIRR the automated PA system announced,
several times, of a station stop "Hillside Facility".

Isn't this an unscheduled private stop for employees only?

When trains make such stops, normally it is not announced, and the
employee manually opens only a single door to get on and off.

It is a scheduled stop for employees. Many trains stop there, and
there's even a timetable card published for employees that lists all the
stops and train numbers with a very brief guide to train number series
and destinations. I was able to procure some copies while I was on a
tour there last weekend. There are about 45 trains per day each way
stopping there, seven days per week. Compare that to three eastbound
and seven westbound trains per day, weekdays only, stopping at Bolands
Landing, which serves Morris Park, but you can walk there from Jamaica
or take a quick ride on the Q24 bus.

Hillside Facility station has a full length platform, and they open the
entire train and announce that the stop is for employees only. It's
easier, I guess, than opening only one door if there are large numbers
of people getting on and off during shift changes. The announcements
are to make sure that paying passengers know not to get off there.

It is scheduled, just not in the timetables given to the public.
However, it is always announced, with the phrase "employees only"
included. All the doors open on the train. There is also an employee
stop on some Brooklyn trains (Boldin's Landing). However, that is a
short platform and not all doors open.

There used to be a regular stop in Hillside (I don't know where in
relation to the Facility), but it was part of some station closings 30
or so years ago.
