According to the Feb. issue of Trains magazine, Amtrak plans on extending
in April the Capitol Ltd. to Florida. Anyone here of this and can
substantiate this?

Yea, if it's true ... it would then be the 1st thing in a while that
Amtrak has gotten right ... beyond the Coast Starlight ...
Frankly, the Florida service trains have HAD it. 50 yr. old sleepers,
chipped paint, no paint, torn carpets, etc.
It will be a FANTASTIC improvement.
Comments anyone?

Amtrak has been studing the possibility of running the Capitol Ltd to
Florida for about a year now.
It is a good idea, allowing them to better utilize equipment, etc. There
were some concerns on what
affect not originating the train in NY would have - maybe they have solved
that problem
