MRT Subway in Singapore has no walkway on either side of the tunnel and
the tunnel id 5.2m is just enough for detraining during emergency through
an escape ramp at the driver cab.

For any other transit system

1) Do you know of any subway which have walkways in the tunnel ?

2) What is the criteria/ guidelines for

(i) emergency evacuation of passengers;
(ii) maintenance access during operation;
(iii) federal regulations
(iv) code/standard requirements

3) What is the typical width of the walkways

Any info will be appreciated!

The metro system in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England has a walkway alongside the
running line (each in separate tunnel) on the tunnel sections, which are

St.James to beyond Manors, Gateshead Stadium to Jesmond with the exception of
the section over the River Tyne. From what I recall this was built this
way due to the relevant safety regulations then in force (late 1970's).

The other railway systems underground are in Liverpool, Glasgow and London,
though these may exit via the end of the train. I am not sure what happens
in the Channel Tunnel, where there is a third emergency access tunnel alongside
the two running line tunnels.
