Australia regulator backs Qantas-Emirates deal
Qantas Airways has been given initial approval from Australia's
competition authority for its proposed alliance with Dubai-based Emirates.
It will make a final decision in March.
The tie-up with Emirates will see Qantas end its existing relationship
with British Airways.
==========
In another article I had read, this new alliance also meant that Qantas
would route more flights through Dubai instead of Bangkok or Singapore.
is this to be considered a serious blow to Oneworld ?
With QF free from its exclusive Oneworld ties with AA, will this lead to
more interlining deals with US airlines such as Delta and United to
carry passengers within Australia ?
