I've used the software on tax return for many years. with no problem. But now I am having a big one, for the 2011 return.

After starting the Federal Section, as I enter the information for deductions, the figure of Federal Taxes on the upper right corner of the form does not change at all, as did in my previous returns. Instead, it remains the same all the way down. After the form is completed, I have to pay taxes as there is no deduction.

I opened the form on both the firefox and chrome browsers, the results are same. Did anyone have same problem with TurboTax? I've contacted TurboTax, but received no response.

Thanks for your help.

In article <f4b0a215-eb2c-4073...@googlegroups.com>,
If you are talking about itemized deductions, such as charitable gifts,
property and local income taxes, and mortgage interest, these will not
be used unless their total exceed your standard deduction. Maybe
that's what's happening?

No. I was able to get thousands of dollars back in previous years with the turbotax. but this time i cannot get a penny back, but have to pay a lot to uncle sam. I wrote to turbotax, but received no response. I guess turbotax is defeated by other similar software, and lost intention to fix its problems.

How do the Turbo Tax results compare to what you get if you do the
return manually? Can you isolate where the differences (if any) are?
AGI? Deductions? Tax? Credits?

I've switched to TaxACT, and like to compare its result with the turbotax's. I just encountered a problem with the TaxACT, not of the computer server of a form. I will ask the question on another subject.

thanks for your help.
