Will my yoga classes be deductible? Here's what happened:
* I have a series of appointments at Kaiser with my MD for
my Reiters Syndrome-related joint problems.
* The MD refers to the Kaiser physical therapy
* The Kaiser physical therapist recommends yoga, which is
taught by a licensed yoga teacher at Kaiser.
* I go to yoga at kaiser.
* The yoga benefits me so much that, in consulation with my
physical therapist, we decide i need to go more often than
it is taught at Kaiser.
* I go to a licensed yoga class outside of Kaiser.

If it is prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner it
would be deductible. I once deducted the cost of a mattress.

Expenses merely beneficial to your general health are not
deductible, but, in your case, the yoga lessons are related
to a particular medical condition and would be deductible.
