I have a client who has mobile offices for lease (movable
trailers). What is the proper depreciation life? At best
they are temporary structures and typically used at
construction or temporary (up to 2 years.

Assuming these mobile offices qualify as tangible personal
property, the depreciable life would generally be 7 years.
If you are in doubt as to whether this property qualifies as
tangible personal property, you might want to read Hospital
Corporation of America v. Commr (109 T.C. 21). The case
should give some insight in helping you make that
determination.
