Does the stock wash sale rule apply here?

I sold a stock on 3/8/2022 at a very slight profit. Then, I bought the same stock on 2/11/2022 at a slightly lower price. The stock is now trading lower than the purchase price on 2/11/2022. Does the wash sale rule apply here. I have read that if the first transaction had a loss, then the wash sale rule applies. But, it was not. Thanks.

No wash sale. The first transaction to close has to be a loss.

Your timeline seems a bit off, wash sale or not.

These are the facts. What is your point?

I saw that too:

You sold a stock on 3/8/22.

THEN you bought the same stock on 2/11/22.

Did you really "THEN buy the same stock" on MARCH 11, 2022 maybe?

It doesn't matter if the replacement shares were bought before or after the profitable sale. There is no wash sale.

You confused the issue when you said 'then.' Back atcha.

But in a way the dates are irrelevant. There's no wash sale without a
sale at a loss.

He sold it on August 3, then bought it back on November 2. Sheesh.
