Don't have much deduction but donated a vehicle with value over $5k. Total income less than $30k this year. Any benefit or downside with getting a 1098-c? The charity gave me a choice of providing social to get 1098-c or otherwise if you don't provide they just won't provide receipt. it wouldn't matter to me anyway because I will take standard deduction.

Revised: Well for California I can't itemize either as standard deduction is about $5363. My property tax is about $12000 though. The problem is I didn't pay any of it and my mother did. My home property is jointly owned by me and mother. Is it possible for me to reimburse my mother for the payment of property tax so I can add it to my tax bill and itemized since my mother's total income per year is under $20k or too late for that?
