Detectives hunting the killers behind the 'Torso in the Thames' child
murder are investigating the illegal bushmeat trade after allegations
that human flesh is being offered for sale in London.
Police believe that the murdered five-year-old, whom they have called
Adam, was the victim of a ritualistic killing linked to a West African
form of voodoo-like religion. Officers suspect that gangs illegally
importing exotic meat, such as chimpanzee and bush rat from West
Africa, are involved in trading in substances used in African
witchcraft that may include human body parts.
Detectives from Operation Swalcliffe, which is investigating Adam's
death, joined a raid on a north London shop last month by
environmental health officers after a tip-off that human body parts
were being sold. The officers seized two tonnes of unfit meat,
including a crocodile head, used in ritualistic dishes to increase
sexual stamina in men. They also found rat faeces, which had been
removed from rats' intestines and prepared as a delicacy for possible
use in a ritual.
Clive Lawrence, Heathrow airport's meat transport director, who was on
the raid, is convinced that human flesh is finding its way into the UK
as part of the bushmeat. He believes that the trade is also linked to
criminal gangs involved in people trafficking and drug smuggling.
'The intelligence we are receiving suggests human flesh is coming into
this country," he said. 'We are dealing with some very nasty people.'
Experts believe African witchcraft rituals are on the increase in
Britain. Professor Hendrick Scholtz, a South African expert in
witchcraft and an adviser on Operation Swalcliffe, said: 'As these
communities grow, elements of African culture will be inevitably
transported to Britain.'
The possible uses of such body parts is varied: skin from a stomach
can be used to cause pain to enemies, while fingernails and toenails
are used in poisons. Eyebrows, hair and noses are often used in
curses. Particularly strong magic is believed to reside in a person's
genitalia. Breasts and genitalia from both sexes are used in love
potions.
Police believe that Adam was brought to Britain as a slave and
sacrificed in a ritual intended to bring good luck to his killers.

prevailing decline of society in general was that society's
degeneration was random and undirected.
There was no lack of direction where
the California Cannibal Cult was concerned.
The Cult, in an absence of functional, directed conspiracies,
moved to fill the gaps.
There was organized crime aplenty in America,
especially in the major cities of California.
Much of Los Angeles had been a free-fire zone for close to a decade;
rival gangs such as the Crips and the Bloods
fought pitched gun-battles with each other and police.
Automatic weapons were the order of the day.
Strange technologies and methods had been showing up
on the slabs of the various local Medical Examiners' establishments,
a lot of these pretty much amounting to (in the eyes of
very overworked forensic pathologists) voodoo.
Some of it _was_ voodoo.

brought dishonor and death to one, perhaps to one's family.
The Cult operated in like fashion, but offenders got eaten,
and mere fear and obligation couldn't compete with antimoral religious fervor.

The Cult had everything needed to co-opt anyone but a saint.
Sex, Money, Ideology, Contraband, and Ego,

He had chemistry and production engineering skills to go with his tastes,
and soon he was in charge of a large scale designer drug operation.

had read a bit too much cyberpunk science-fiction,
and had heard of some very strange chemicals.
Among things he produced were synthetic adrenochrome and adrenotinin,
which are structurally related to the mescaline-class hallucinogens.
Adrenochrome normally was a transitional chemical in the healthy person,
a breakdown byproduct of adrenalin. In certain disorders,
adrenochrome built up, and was long ago discovered to be a
chemical basis of paranoia and schizophrenia.
He also produced shellfish toxin, incredibly deadly stuff,
and tetrodotoxin, the famed puffer-fish poison of Haitian zombi lore;

When I predicted the inescapable emergence of "the California Cannibal Cult",
I suppose I was just pointing out, before I ever had the phrase in mind, that
"multiculturalism" and "diversity" aren't necessarily good things. There are
elements of foreign culture which simply cannot be tolerated in the western
nations, and it's worth pondering that while many of those who live in the
States are the descendants of adventurers who just wanted to explore and
settle "the wild est", there are also many whose arrival was less of the
realization of a dream, and more of the successful escape of a career of
unspeakable crimes.
In almost every culture around the world, there are hidden-subcultures,
"cryptocultures" if I may coin the term, which are criminal to say the least.
I don't suppose I need to point out the obvious example of the Rom ("Gypsies")
who don't live with a travelling band, but who have adopted much of the
lifestyles of the countries in which they reside, but who haven't given up
allegiance to the traditional ways of ripping off anyone they can. The less
obvious example is that of the old-world Crime Families being exported to the
States to consolidate as "the mob". Even less obvious are those who fled their
homelands to the States or Territories, bringing with them memories of an
ancestral way of life which could be practiced without the constraints of law
and custom which developed in their countries of origins. The bloody Benders
of Kansas came to the Territory and set up a roadhouse where they lived by
drawing in travellers to their deaths, being caught only by a freak of chance.
Similar stories -- some of which have been fictionalized -- about "mountain
men" who went cannibal first by desperation and then by choice, abounded among
the native nations of the American West, to the point where when Sitting Bull
was invited to a treaty meeting, he refused to partake of the feast set before
him, pointing out that it was widely known that whites were cannibals and he
didn't trust their food. Later, he and many other nativeamericans became aware
that possibly they were better off with the coming of the "white man's law",
because far from being cannibals, most whites wouldn't tolerate the practice,
and would find and imprison or execute those who were cannibals. Is there a
cannibalistic "cryptoculture" in the "Western World"? Count on it. But it's an
aberration, essentially a criminal clique on its way to apprehension and
extinction. But what about elsewhere in the world?
Africa has some "cryptocultures" of its own. "Witch killings" are really
rather common in Africa, and have largely been tolerated because it is the
native way of attempting to root out and destroy certain practices, including
ritual killings in which the meat of the victim is devoured. Back in the day,
though, there was no way for those who were discovered to be adherents of the
cults to escape; yet now, the civilized nations of the Western World have
provided airliners and refuge. It's interesting that someone might present
themselves as a refugee from religious persecution in their homeland, and the
Western nations offering the refuge neither know nor understand that some
particular religion and its adherents _may have been persecuted for excellent
reasons_. Admitting persons whose religious system permits or requires ritual
murder -- on grounds of religous-persecution refuge -- just isn't sensible.
It's time that immigration officials in the Western World became much more
familiar with, and alert to, the various cults and religions and traditions of
the rest of the planet.

This post might be usefull for people in each of the groups it is
cross posted to, but given the different attitudes common in each of
the ng's, looks more like an attempt to start a flame war between
members of different ng's.

Maybe they thought Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal" (1729; "A
