FireCard draws only power through the PCI bus of the host system and can be
remotely located and updated anywhere on the network. After initial setup,
the FireCard can be remotely managed externally through the Internet via
secured connection. Card can protect host system only (via crossover cable
to NIC) or internal connection can be linked to network hub. The product
was designed for the medium sized organization and provides unrestricted
seat and VPN tunnel licensing allowing low cost expansion to office branches
and road warriors. Product allows IT managers the ability to have
distributed firewall management and realtime monitoring.
Merilus is currently in discussions with OEMs and MSSPs (Managed Security
