Why do old Farmers have HUGE Ears?

I swear, everytime I see an old Farmer, they always wear their bib
overalls, and they always have HUGE ears. What causes their ears to get
so big?

Just this week, I went to a farm equipment auction, looking for deals on
tools. I have never seen so many BIG ears in my life, and everyone of
them were on the heads of farmers dressed in bib overalls.

I think it's old people in general. The nose, ears, and (sometimes)

I think the bibs have pretty well disappeared here in Nebraska.
Years ago, it was the bibs, a pocket watch, and a pair of CTs in the
official side pocket. My dad smoked. I don't remember where farmers
carried their cigarettes. Zippo lighter, of course.
It's blue jeans and t-shirts for the most part nowadays. A smart
phone is getting to be standard equipment.
The phones are a handy tool but some people don't come off looking
too good. People had time to cool off in the old days before calling so
they weren't as likely to make fools of themselves.

Just recently ran across the answer. With age, the cartilage in their ears (and nose) stay the same size, while the rest of the face/head tissues shrink.
