These two grates, the ronjan at http://www.radiantfiregrates.com/
and the texas fireframe at http://www.texasfireframe.com/

Appear to be of similar design. I'd like to make my fireplace a bit
more useful if possible and am wondering if anyone has tried either of
these and if so how well it works.

I've considered inserts and stoves and have decided to stay with the
fireplace. Last year I used hardware cloth then expanded metal screen
in the grate to keep the coals near the burning wood. It helped a
great deal but both of them eventually failed because of the heat.

There is one more product I noticed the eco fire super grate at
http://www.ecofire.com/index.html. This one looks like it would burn
wood at a much faster rate and it quite a bit more pricey but if
anyone has experience with this one I'd like to hear about them as
well.

thanks,

Mike
