Is it a sad fact that iOS is primitive in homescreen management
functionality compared to the modern homescreen management functionality of
Android?

The permanent Usenet record will show the meaning of Different vs Primitive
<https://i.postimg.cc/QdmBcwGC/homescreen00.jpg>

I ask almost every iOS owner I see how they manageme their homescreen,
where I find these owners are almost always completely ignorant that the
homescreen management functionality of iOS is literally primitive.

Apologists claim it's "different"...and yet, it's downright _primitive_.

A stone mace is different from a modern claw hammer in that it's primitive.
o The modern hammer does all the stone hammer can ... than then lots more.

*ADULT FACT:*
There is _nothing_ on iOS, by way of homescreen management, that isn't
already on Android, and, yet, as always, there is _plenty_ on Android by
way of homescreen management, that isn't on iOS, AFAIK.

Please prove me wrong, if you can as I love to learn about the differences.
o That's why I bought both platforms in the first place: to learn.

I ask every iOS user I know why they think iOS is _not_ (sadly) primitive.
o HINT: Most iOS users seem to be ignorant of inherent vast Android power.

*ADULT ASSESSMENT:*
iOS, by virtue of its utterly _primitive_ design, does not have modern
homescreen management functionality.

FACT:
iOS is primitive in homescreen management compared to Android.
o I love facts ... so if you have facts ... simply prove me wrong.

My iOS homescreen:

My Android homescreen:
<https://i.postimg.cc/hGhGTG1Z/homescreen01.jpg>

Prove me wrong... but please use facts when you do so.
o HINT: Apologists claim _imaginary_ iOS functionality all the time.

Apologists incessantly make excuses for iOS' shockingly primitive design.

FACTS:

Choice versus primitive...
<https://i.postimg.cc/QdmBcwGC/homescreen00.jpg>

As just one obvious example, on Android, you can put your icons & folders
on _any_ grid you like, any number of columns, any number of rows.

With the clearly primitive iOS homescreen management, it's not a choice.
o On iOS, you just can't.

Yes, you like to move icons around. It brings you joy. So what?

I think it's interesting the apologists _hate_ facts.
o Alan Baker calls ANY FACTS from ANYONE ... to be lies.

Notice the person Alan Baker is responding to mentioned simple facts.
o Those facts are _obvious_ to any logical rational adult.

But not to Alan Baker.
o To apologists like Alan Baker, facts are a pack of lies.

The apologists below prove this factual assessment true time & again:

UPDATE: (dateline today)
"Apple has just paid Android the biggest compliment it could"

More evidence supporting the well-known fact that the iOS homescreen (aka
app launcher) is so vastly limited in what it can do that it's not funny.
1. Apple pioneered the modern homescreen
2. And then.... nothing... for more than a decade
3. Where Android stole it, and improved it from there (in tons of ways)

Now, Apple is perhaps moving from the Stone Age, to the Late Stone Age.

o *Why now is the time for Apple to bring Android-like features to iPhones*
<https://www.techradar.com/news/why-now-is-the-time-for-apple-to-bring-android-like-features-to-iphones>

"While Android users may be crowing about Apple only now including
features they've had on their phones for a long time, Apple will argue
that now the time is right to offer users more customization options."

"With iOS 14 though, Apple is removing one of the obstacles it put in the
part of users who wanted to customize their iPhone experience.

Yes, there are still plenty of barriers in place to stop you tinkering
with your iPhone too much, but by allowing widgets in the app grid...
well, iOS is now looking an awful lot like Android did a few years ago."

"[You can] find all your apps in the Library at the end of all the
screens... you know, a little like the app drawer that Android phones
have used for years."

"But Apple's reputation for simplicity is under threat here"

Apple Homescreen management is mired in the Stone Age of functionality.
