An accessories reviewer tested the iPhone 11 versus the iPhone 12
o I Broke An iPhone 12 To See How Tough the Ceramic Shield Is!
<https://youtu.be/67IDEDn5oEc>

*The iPhone 12 had significantly better force resistance*:
o iPhone 11 screen cracked at 352 Newtons
o iPhone 12 screen cracked at 442 Newtons

But the Mohs hardness was about the same on all counts:
o iPhone 11 front screen scratched at #7 Mohs
o iPhone 12 front screen scratched (less) at #7 Mohs

o iPhone 11 back glass scratched at #7 Mohs (?)
o iPhone 12 back glass scratched at #7 Mohs (?)

o iPhone 11 camera lens scratched at #8 Mohs
o iPhone 12 camera lens scratched at #8 Mohs

Bear in mind that normal boring glass scratches between 6 & 7.

Dateline today...

Verbatim, as apologists _hate_ what Apple is, so much they brazenly
fabricate inane excuses for almost everything that Apple does.

"Allstate performed its Breakability Drop Tests from six feet in the air
atop a rough sidewalk on the front, back and side of the phones to see
how they faired." [sic]

o Allstate dubs iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro strongest smartphone yet
<https://appleinsider.com/articles/20/10/26/allstate-dubs-iphone-12-and-iphone-12-pro-strongest-smartphone-yet>

"Both iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have the same glass back panel
yet only the latter shattered despite the stronger frame.
On the front-facing test iPhone 12 still cracked on its first drop."

"While the results appear mixed, at best, AllState says they faired
[sic] better than any phones they've tested before."

Verbatim quotes simply because apologists brazenly deny any and all facts
about Apple they don't like (which is a hellovalotta facts about Apple).

"Every year Apple makes a similar claim about its glass,
but this time may be different"

o iPhone 12 drop test results are in: Ceramic shield is as tough as it sounds
<https://www.cnet.com/news/iphone-12-drop-test-result-are-in-ceramic-shield-is-as-tough-as-it-sounds/>

"All four models of the iPhone 12
(iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max)
have the same ceramic shield on the screen and the same type of glass
on the back. The only difference in materials is the frame."

"The ceramic shield only covers the front, the screen, of the iPhone 12.
The back is covered with the same glass as last year's iPhone 11"

"The back of the iPhone 12, however, doesn't seem to have the same drop
resistance superpower as the screen."

"The glass on the iPhone 12 lies flush with the metal frame rather than
curved up like in previous models which left more of the glass exposed."
