Hi badgolferman,
Regarding your recent thread:
o iPhone 12 Anti Repair Design - Teardown and Repair Assessment
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/HiS3wmZEIPY>

You're not an apologist, so your eyes, ears, and brain are adult.
o You own the adult capacity to comprehend what Apple is, & does.

Apple's entire strategy on repair is, IMHO, ingeniously clever.
o The entire process is _designed_ to may you pay thru the nose!

It's sheer genius, which no other OEM has managed to fully copy.
o Mainly because no other OEM has such ungodly gullible customers.

Basically, Apple takes away functionality
o So that their ungodly loyal) consumer has to purchase it back!

It's no wonder Apple is so profitable.
o Combine sheer genius MARKETING with ungodly gullible customers.

For example:
o Gizmodo uses the word BULLSHIT to explain Apple's independent repair policy statements with respect to actual contractual facts
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/l5YyqPIQXCY>

o Even if a genuine Apple display is used by your repairer, you will receive the warning messages based on the price of the tools repairers used
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/5Ge0WpaDjjM>

o Independent repair shops disappointed with Apple's repair programs
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/qIXtCvV2Wtc>

o Is there an Android manufacturer who employs the customer unfriendly repair practices that Apple foists upon its loyal customer base?
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.mobile.android/lnf8QiyaYr4>

o Do any Android phone manufacturers throttle (CPUs, PD Charging, Modems) like Apple consistently does?
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/ZTmmGoAndyM>

o Apple is activating secret software inside the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/OqOM4rY-oNY>

o Apple agrees to pay 25 million euros fine as Apple admits "Apple committed the crime of deceptive commercial practice by omission"

o Apple's Plan to Pay $500 Million to Settle Lawsuit Over Secretly Throttling Older iPhones Gets Preliminary Approval today

o Report says Apple 'Powerd' code secretly slows your iOS device down to trick you into buying a new device

o iFixit reports major repair issues essentially rendering iPhone 12 camera repair almost unusable

o Which recent 2019 & 2020 Android phones do NOT come with a charger in the box (that are in the price range of an iPhone)?
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/sYGmp42lHV0>

o Apple to skip USB-C on iPhone 12/Pro 5G before going portless next year

o Details on Apple's trade-in pricing explained (e.g., Apple does NOT determine why iPhone trade-in prices recently plummeted)
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/YY9_inq31Vc>

o Apple is killing the charging plug on its highest-end phones by 2021, top analyst predicts
<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/NXl5qpnELn8>

o New AppleCare+ options for the new line of Apple iPhones

o Comparative Resale Values of Flagship Phones, Including Variations Among Carriers

Given the facts, it will be interesting to see apologists' reaction
o Type I (nospam) will deny it happens
o Type II (sms) will not comprehend any of the facts
o Type III (Jolly Roger) will vehemently attack the bearer of facts

Just watch.

A modus operandi learned from airlines, or vice versa?

Wow. That's an astute point, which I very much appreciate.
o It's fantastic when people add value to the discussions on this newsgroup

I agree with your observation, and appreciate the connection you made.

We all flew in the days where a couple bags of carry on and a couple more
even larger bags of checkin luggage (especially on international trips) was
included in the price of the ticket, as was food & most beverages.

We didn't even need to buy two seats to get some elbow room, nor did we
need to pay extra for the "good" seats, such as those near an exit door.

Then, just like how Apple removed the headphone jack, and like how Apple
now removed the charging & listening devices from the box, the airlines
started playing this marketing game.
o They removed free luggage so you had to pay to get that luggage back
o They removed the free food & beverage so you had to pay to get it back
o They removed access to the good seats so you had to pay to get it back
etc.

One by one, the MARKETING organizations realized they could take away the
basic necessities, and then they could charge us to get them back.

Thank you for that insight, which I appreciate due to the connections made.

I appreciate that badgolferman found that very interesting iPhone 12 test!
o So I created a complete transcript of that badgolferman suggested video.

However, I had hoped the automatically created transcript would be more
readable so I'm going to try to find better Speech-to-Text (STT) freeware.

Nonetheless, here's a snapshot of my first-pass results at translating it:
