Apple has a nice workaround for this bug to do an over-the-air update:
the iPhone 5 gets to download an app via the Software Update mechanism
(first time I've seen that), and when you run the app, it downloads the
6.0.1 update and fires off the update process. The updater assistant app
is deleted during the installation.

My brother was complaining about that one, but I hadn't noticed it in
the two or three days we've both had our iPhone 5s.

Except that on my 5, the updater app ran automatically as part of the
whole process and it all finished in under ten minutes. Seamlessly.

Nor me in more than a week.

I'm hoping this one fixes my issue where, when LTE is enabled, the phone
will go into "No service" and nothing short of a full reboot will bring
it out.

Haven't seen it yet, but I've gone a couple days without seeing it
before, so that doesn't mean a lot. I guess we'll find out.

Ask Forstall - he'll give you the answer you like.

I'm not looking for a specific answer; I'm looking for factual and
personal reasons the OP thinks it's broken.

Notice I didn't ask anyone else for their opinions. While you're of
course free to offer your opinion, and I do welcome it, it would be
unrealistic of you to expect that your opinion will answer my question
to the OP. That would just be silly.

Nah, you were just trying to spin up nospam.

It worked.

Nope. A decent familiarity with conversational

try it some time.

It hasn't happened again, but I'm traveling and roaming, and for some
reason the iPhone won't even tell me if I'm on 3G or LTE with roaming
data off.

Still, I was home for a day after the upgrade without any issues, so it
seems to have helped.

I'll follow-up in this thread if it happens again (as well as with my
open case with Apple)

The data inaccuracies (and limited data) is the primary problem, but the
overall poorly presented UI is a pretty significant issue too.

I'm looking for specific real-world problems, not generalizations. And
I'm still waiting for the OP to answer. No offense, but your opinions
don't interest me.

I use the Map app and it's great. Has some issue sbut they are WAY
overblown.

Also it has improved hugely even since it was issued.
