56 DIED FROM FAMINE IN BIHAR
JAMSHEDPUR - About 56 people have died of famine over the last 6 months
in South Bihar's Palamu division and about one lakh inhabitants have
migrated to other places in search of livelihood, according to Palamu
DCC(I) President Ganga Prasad.

NATION'S FIRST TEST-TUBE TWINS
MADRAS - The country's first testtube twins were born at the apollo
hospital here.The twins a boy and a girl, were born on nov 17th to a
25 year old mother after several other methods to conceive failed, the
hospital announced. Frozen/thawed spermatozoa as against fresh semen was
used for the assisted reproduction it said. Normally in assisted
reproduction technologies, only fresh semen is used.

ARMY SWOOP ON BENAZIR'S HOUSE
KARACHI - The Pakistan Army and police took up positions today around
the Karachi home of Opposition Leader Benazir Bhutto after she vowed
