India - Tarun Kanti Ghosh dies of heart attack

Calcuta, Mar 24 :PTI: Veteran Congress-(I) leader
and director of the Amrita Bazar Patrika and Jugantar
Publications, Tarun Kanti Ghosh, died after a heart attack at
the airport here this evening on his way to Delhi, according
to airport sources.
The sources said that several other Congress-(I) leaders
like Mr Siddhartha Shankar Ray, union minister of state for
finance, Dr Debi prosad Pal, and the former union minister, Mr
Ajit Panja, who were to leave for Delhi inthe Indian Airlines
flight along with Tarun Kanti Ghosh, had cancelled their
trip following his sudden demise and would accompany the body
to Ghosh's ancestral house at barasat.
The police said that the veteran Congress-(I) leader
was brought to the medical unit of the airports authority of
india where he was declared dead.
Ghosh was a minister in the state in the P.C. Sen
Cabinet. He is also a former member of the parliament.
Son of Tushar Kanti Ghosh, Tarun Kanti, is survived by his
wife two sons and two daughters.
