Amtrak just debuted upgraded long-distance trains that will transform
rail travel in America with new seats and rooms

Amtrak is investing $28 million to overhaul its long-distance trains
featuring new seats, rooms, and amenities.

All cabins from coach to sleeper suites will see new products that
focus on modernity and sustainability.

Traditional dining is also returning to select routes with new food
items and an enhanced service offering.

As a child in the early 2000's, our family took a vacation to Delray
Beach, FL one summer. We took the "auto train", where they load your
vehicle onto one of the rear cars, and of course, take it along for the
ride. We rode that from Maryland down to Florida I do believe. I can't
recall if it was Amtrak or whichever company. My father had recalled
doing that as a child with his parents in the 1970's.

It was an interesting experience. Possibly even a cost-effective one,
if you have large fuel-hungry vehicle like the 3rd row seating
Trailblazer we had at the time. We did not opt for the sleeper cars or
dining, it was cost effective to just sleep in the regular seats. I
don't remember a lot about it, but those new pictures look far roomier
and comfier than I remember it being.

I can't speak for those "east coast" trains, but the "long-distance
trains," which appear to be somewhat similiar...but with "minor"
changes for these newer ones.
