I've just seen the news about the low cost flats that Tata will build in
India http://www.shubhgriha.com/pages/plans.php

So I wondered why all dimensions was in imperial units, but on the sketch
the area is given in Sq meters.

What's normal practice in India?

I also noticed that despite the low price, priority to separate bathroom and
toilet with outside sink has been given, In DK, one wet room would cover
them, behind one singel door.

And a second thing is the direct entrance to the small foyer with direct
access to the living room.

Regards

Peter

1 Sq.ft. = 0,0929 Sq.m

1 sq.m = 10,76 Sq.ft.

Probably, and for obvious reasons, all technical work is done in SI but
Imperial units are often used for communicating with ordinary people.

Or they've seen the state of the US housing
business, and are preparing for the export market.

With a larger family, you don't want the queue for the private area to
be held up by people doing non-private things there.

They appear to have non-carpet figures for their carpet % figures !

When you set up your ... err ... newsreader correctly,
you will be able to write

1 m = 100 dm
1 m = 1000 dm
1  = 100

with proper symbols. Abbreviations like "sq m" are not acceptable
in the International System of Units.

In Outlook Express, choose

Encode text using: None
