As for me ... I issued an apology for a number of reasons. One, was that my
'part' in the whole thing occured more than a year prior to being contacted
by Mr. Novins. I had little recollection of what I wrote, or whether it was
libelous or not. Nor did I care to go searching through google to find all
the posts in which I mentioned his name or replied to a post that did. The
man asked for an apology in exchange for leaving me out of the whole mess.
Nothing else. I took him at his word that I'd said some things about him
that weren't very nice and obliged. I also took that opportunity to
sincerely apologize to any/everyone *else* I may have offended along the
way. I have a daughter in college and am currently very UNDER-employed. My
wife and I have better things to do with our time and money then to give it
to a lawyer to defend me against whatever claim(s) was/were going to be
made. IMO I did not only the right, but also the *prudent* thing given the
circumstances. If IYO, it was the 'wrong thing to do' and makes me a
coward, so be it. You're entitled to your opinion.

From where I stand, it looks like Novins applied the proverbial
"Hammer of Thor" to the stAUKers and left them refinancing their homes
