AFAIK any American convicted of a serious crime in Mexico is given the
option of serving his or her sentence in an American prison. Many
decline, because for a small amount of money per month they can enjoy
better conditions in a Mexican prison, at least according to a recent
article I saw about an 18 year old American serving time in Mexico.

And maybe he can get a new show out of it: "Perro a Interno de la
Prisión"

Heck, ,I'd watch that!

Which part of that didn't sound insane to you when you wrote it?

I wouldn't watch it if it were performed in the nude. I have seen bad
shows before but that one takes the prize. Says a bunch for Estrella's
intelligence that it supports him.
