I have been reading around for birthday ideas for my 7 to be 8
year old son, who will have boys and girls at his birthday party.
we have been going bowling the last couple of years, as have most
of the other kids, so i wanted to do something different and fun.
like games with prizes, arts and crafts (If you have an idea of something
good, please let me know!!)
1) I wanted to do something with sand .. the jars if i can find supplies
cheap, otherwise, I know that there are these shape stickers with
removable components, that you can apply sand to one section then peel
of another section, and use a different color, etc. Where can i get
these things?? I know they have sand at MJ Designs, but the idea here
is CHEAP supplies!!
2) The next thing that I thought would be cool is tye die or something
with tee-shirts. Kids always like this sort of junk!! so, where can I
get a bunch of plain white t-shirts, either kids large/x-large, may
need a few adult smalls!!
what else???
I remember when i was a kid, i read an article on how to have a backyard
carnival .. that would be cool, but i can't remember the stuff in it !!!
please email if possible!
thanks
anita
If you have time, look in your yellow pages for teacher supply store or
arts stores (wholesale, if there are ant in your area). There are a
bunch of cheap art supply catalogs, but I don't remember the names off
hand. In our area, you can sometimes get cheap supplies at discount
stores like WalMart. Most of the time it is much cheaper to buy the
materials by themself rather than in a kit.

It is usually cheaper if you buy directly from a tee shirt designer.
They buy large quanities very cheap and will often sell the ones that
have runs or spots for their price rather than return to the factory.
(Be sure to buy 100% cotton and prewash for tie dye).

Look at the library. There are the obvious bean bag tosses, "duck
ponds", ring around the bottle tosses, knock over the coke bottle,
etc. I also remember playing a fishing game where you had a pole with a
magnet on the end that you would put in a kiddie pool and pull out a #
attached to another magnet. The number would tell you the prize.
I remember a birthday carnival I went to as a 4 yr. old. It was
wonderful and will always be special to me.
