Sharon Sharon Bo Baron
Banana Fana Fo Faron
Me, My, Mo Maron
Sharon!

(No one does this better than Super Dave!)

There is also a song that goes with it, kind of an introductory tune,
that I do not know.

There is a game, actually it's a song, where you use someones name to change
each verse, and I can't for the life of me remember how it goes!

The only words I can remember are 'Banana Ana' and something that rhymes with
that. Then somehow you incorporate someones name into the next verse. I hope
this is enough to jog someones memory!

Looking forward to learning the words so I can teach them to my daughter,

The Name Game
Come on everybody
I say now let's play a game
I betch I can make a rhyme
outta anybody's name

The first letter of the name
you treat it like it wasn't there
but a B or an F
or an M will appear

First say Tony
Then Bannana Fanna and Foe
Then say the name with and F, very Plain
Fony
and Fe, Fie and Mo
Now say the name with an M this time
Mony
and there isn't any name that you can't rhyme

Let's do Tony
Tony, Tony Bo Bony
Bannana Fanna Foe Fony
Fi, Fi Mo Mony
Tony

But if the first two letters are ever the same
drop them both then say the name
like Bob, Bob, drop the B, Bo Ob
or Fred, Fred, drop the F, Fo Red
or Mary, Mary drop the M, Mo Ary
That's the only rule that is contrary

Let's do Tony.....

Now try Mary

A little trick with Nick

And that's about all I can remember.....hope it helps

My daughter and I sing this to one of my cats all the time. Like this

Squirty irty bo birty
Banana fana fo firty
fee fi mo mirty
Squirty.

The key is that whatever the name is, it denotes the rhyme (i.e. last word
of every line). Examples in our family:

Henry, enry bo benry
Banana fana fo fenry
Me my mo menry
Henry

Jerry erry bo berry
Bnanana fana fo ferry
Me my mo merry
Jerry

Dawn awn fo fawn
Banana fana fo fawn
Me my mo mawn
Dawn

That's all well and good unless your name happens to be Chuck or Mitch :-)

I haven't seen the posting where the song is given - sure hope it shows
up, but when I was in fifth grade, we were always giving the people
names we knew were trouble. I think it was harmless, but we didn't
let our parents hear us. :-)

Here's the formula for the game:

banana bana bo bana - fe fi fo fana - me mi mo mana - banana

Have fun!
