OT: Interior Painting...

Does anyone know if it's ok to do the cutting in on a bright blue wall
a few days before doing the rollering? Or would you be able to see the
difference?

I'm no professional painter here, but yes, I think you'd be able to see
the difference. Better to roll it on while the edging is still wet so
you can blend it in.

I agree, I unintentionally left a day or more between cutting in and rolling
(well actually I prefer one of those flat sponge pads) and you can really
tell.

I think it's best to try to do it on the same day, so that hopefully the
paint is still wet to some degree, but we all know that you have to do what
you have to do. I've definitely done cutting in and then had delays before
I could get to rolling on the paint, and it's come out fine. On certain
colors you may have to put on several coats of paint rolled, but the single
cut should do okay. I've had issues with Yellows, and Blue's are likely to
be problematic as well. It also depends on the brand and make of paint.
Some brands are much thicker and better at almost handling a single coat,
while others need at least 2 coats to look marginally okay, but 3 is better.
