In Sacramento, California, we have a store called "Once Upon A
Child". This store has a mix of slightly used and new items. I
have noticed these baby joggers there for about $140. I think
this is probably an excellent price. They look in terrific shape,
and appear to push remarkably easy.

Can anyone provide a recommendation for a baby jogger (the
stroller-type things with bicycle wheels)? My wife would like to
start running again, and needs something to accommodate our
7-month-old. I've seen quite a few different implementations of
these, and would like to know what to expect in terms of quality and
price.

Thanks.

The actual brand "Baby Jogger" is quite expensive - $500 CDN for everything
that you want with it (mesh bag to carry stuff and all). We got a knock off
at Costco for $149 CDN which is called a "Pathfinder". We think that it
works just great. My husband goes for 2 hour runs with our 8 month old and
finds it easy to use.

We live in Canada (no kidding) and so have some crummy winter weather to
consider. If you have the same conditions, you may want to consider looking
at the enclosed carriers that double as bike trailers. The wind can be cut
by the clear plastic covering, although it would definitely increase wind
resistence while you're running. I still think that we would stick with the
one that we have got though.

Do some searches on the Web. I found that you can buy used BabyJoggers from
the company (I think they are refurbished), and can also find better prices
than may be available locally. I bought one from Agees(?) Cycles that was
about $100 less than in my town. Also, you can find reviews of different
brands. I wish I could remember the brand I bought, but it was much
sturdier than the Baby Jogger, and cost less too. Linda

I have a "baby jogger" and I am satisfied with it. It cost about $225. I do
agree with others that there are
some equal or better ones at a cheaper price that are available. But I still
feel the money was well spent.
One frustation is that the sun/rain canopy (an option at $45) doesn't fold
down; it has a heavy metal frame
that you can't simply "accordian" down if you want to; I've seen others do
this on different brands. Sorry I
just don't recall the names of some of the other brands.
