Hi Jamie..I have 7 kids..6 who I have gone thru teething with (my littles is
only 3 months old too). I have found childrens motrin to be a godsend.
Tylenol does nothing for teething (IMO). I discovered this when I needed a
root canal. I tried the tylenol..and tylenol with codeine for the pain.
Never helped it. I used motrin and it made a huge difference. Motrin (or
ibuprofen) reduces swelling and eases pain. I tested my theory on Travis
(now 2 1/2) and it WORKED! I have heard wonderful things about the HYlands
teething tablets tho. I plan to try that with Sarah when she begins
teething. Something else we did for Travis was to give him clean strips of
leather to chew on...they like the taste and it's very pliable and
comforting to them to gum on it. a wooden spoon (we have one Gary made for
our son..) well sanded to remove possibilities of splinters. When Travis
was a little older..he liked chewing on small bits of ice. Crushed Ice is
nice.

Better than tylenol that is. I usually just used hyland's until the
molars came in and then used motrin.
For your migraine, I suggest you look at
my Natural Migraine Treatment FAQ, which
you can find from a link on my home page
(see sigline).
For your sore throat, I recommend vitamin C and
zinc lozenges.
For teething -- try teethers of
various consistencies. Someone
suggested leather
and I think this is a
good idea since it's a similar
feel to your
breasts, which he has been
using as teethers.
I know it's hard when you're tired, but
I suggest you make an investment in being
pro-active about the latch.
That is, look at him from
time to time while he's nursing, and
catch the bad latch almost as
soon as it starts, before it
gets painful. More effort; but
within a few days I hope it will
pay off by training baby not
to chew on you like that.
Don't be hard on yourself if you
don't do this; you're exhausted
from hearing baby cry. But if you do
make the effort I think it will
definitely be worth it.
It took me a long time to learn
that it's worthwhile in parenting
to be pro-active about many things.
Speaking of being pro-active: you'd
better fix that latch before the
teeth erupt, or it will
hurt a lot more! After my son got his
first couple of teeth I had to
train him to do a better latch.

Inability is an abstract thing involving comparison with
alternate universes; it cannot be experienced.
