~ Investigating the usefulness of Recurrent Neural
Networks in Speech Processing applications with
specific interest in Phonetic-to-Acoustic and
Acoustic-to-Phonetic mapping.
~ Simulations run on Sun 3/260 and CRAY Y-MP.
~ Special efforts taken to vectorize code for the CRAY.
~ Programming environment was C and UNIX.
Software Development:
~ Modified two C codes for Hidden Markov Model (HMM)
training and testing for inclusion into the Entropic
Signal Processing System (ESPS) package.
~ Programming done in C and UNIX on the Sun workstations.
Signal Processing (Software):
~ Investigated a novel approach to pattern recognition
in automated real-time detection of arrhythmias in ECG
(Electro CardioGram) signal monitoring.
~ Involved the use of The Fast Hartley Transform, a
faster
method of computing the spectrum compared to the FFT.

~ Designed a 8085 based system for on-line processing of
