· Evaluated data integrity and traceability for the Rocky Flats
Environmental Data System (RFEDS), an Oracle supported, computerized,

plant’s technical library, a software applications group developing
a Corrective Action Tracking and Trending DBMS, a litigation support
project, and a virtual library project
· Served as Database Administrator for BASIS and SEARCHmate software,
two textual information management systems in a VAX/VMS environment
· Managed database development, and participated in systems design in
the areas of litigation support, procurement, materials distribution,
compliance
· Managed the purchasing, receiving, and distribution systems for
technical publications costing $0.5 million per year for a plant
population of over 6000 employees.
· Prepared specifications for and administered multi-thousand dollar
contracts related to technical library services and operations
· Introduced and implemented an intranet type concept, that gave a
plant population of over 6000 people 24 hour, on-line access to a
"virtual library" containing the full text of critical regulatory
and procedural documents, current journal literature, internal reports,
and the catalogs of all major public and university libraries in
Colorado. The improvement in employee productivity over a 4 year period
was valued at more than $5 million
· Designed a purchasing system that supported the annual acquisition of
$.5 million worth of technical and training publications, while
reducing the turn-around time for processing customer requisitions by
50%, and labor costs by 30%
· Designed and implemented a computer-microfiche based storage and
retrieval system for a collection of over 20,000 technical company
reports that covered nearly 40 years of plant R&D. Earned a cost
improvement award for cost savings achieved through the initiative
· Introduced a micrographics system that saved the plant from spending
$36,000 on additional equipment, and reduced operating costs by
$13,000 over a 3 year period. Earned a cost improvement award for the

· Designed and implemented the on-line Compliance Management System for
the Chief Auditor’s office, as part of a program to manage plant
