Position: Applications Systems Support consultant
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 12+ months
OBJECTIVE
Client is seeking to obtain the services of one (1)Consultant; to plan
the future requirements of the overall application system
infrastructure and transitionally support the application
environments, with the goal of transitioning responsibilities to
staff.
TASKS
Consultant shall perform the following tasks:
• Assess infrastructure capacity thresholds for CSS; specific
application systems and data warehouse while developing a plan for CSS
to deploy the necessary resources at the appropriate future times to
meet the demands.
• Provide written recommendations to CSS Management; as to the system
requirements and integration of CSS line operational systems, CSS
specific applications and data warehouse.
• Support application server hardware, including; the use of remote
monitoring tools and the establishment of component replacement
procedures with the manufacturer.
• Maintain the current Enterprise Linux operating systems; on
development, test and production environments, which includes
installation of enhancement / bug fix / security packages, resource
optimization, recovery and monitoring.
• Support mid-tier servers, including; patching, maintaining context
parameters, performance monitoring, log analysis, maintaining custom
object libraries,providing secure and restricted role access to object
libraries for developers and maintain concurrent processes.
• Support Oracle database servers, including; monitoring and tuning
the system global area, tablespace utilization, overall resource
availability, managing RMAN activities, providing secure role access
to database objects, enterprise manager event scheduling and extended
object support such as materialized views,spatial data objects, secure
files and partitioned tables.
• Support inbound and outbound data movement, such as; ETL processes
and web services.
• Develop written procedures for maintaining all aspects of CSS
application infrastructure including hardware, OS, application servers
and database.
• Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions covering all
aspects of CSS application systems to CSS staff.
• Work with CSS Management to establish priorities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Consultant must meet all of the following minimum requirements:
1. Five (5) years experience, within the past seven (7) years in a
lead infrastructure technology role providing planning and support for
servers, storage, applications, databases and network components.
2. Five (5) years experience, within the past seven (7) years
installing and maintaining Dell PowerEdge Server products and related
components, including DRAC and PERC.
3. Three (3) years experience, within the past five (5) years
installing, configuring and supporting Linux based upon the Red Hat
GPL in a production environment.
4. Three (3) years experience, within the past five (5) years
installing configuring and maintaining Oracle Enterprise Edition
database release 10 or greater in a Linux environment.
5. Three (3) years experience, within the past five (5) years
implementing and supporting materialized views, partitioned tables,
spatial data objects, packages, and stored procedures in an Oracle
Enterprise Edition database environment.
6. Three (3) years experience, within the past five (5) years
implementing and supporting Oracle Application Server for E-Business
Suite 12 and standalone BI Publisher under version 10.1.2 or greater.
7. Three (3) years experience, within the past five (5) years building
and supporting processes using Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Analytic
functions, SQL Loader, WGET, CURL, BASH scripting and crons.
8. One (1) year experience, within the past two (2) years implementing
and supporting Oracle VM version 2 and Oracle VM Manager, using;
paravirtualized Linux guest machines.
9. One (1) year experience, within the past two (2) years installing,
implementing and supporting heterogeneous services and web services in
an Oracle Database Enterprise Edition version 11 production
environment.
