CHIEF ARCHITECT <br>Location: Kansas City, MO <br>
<br>Department: Engineering <br> <br>Direct and supervise the
activities of the Architectural section of the Engineering
Department to produce all the architectural working drawings and
specifications within a Region. <br> <br>The Chief Architect is
frequently involved in the conceptual stage of a new design
project in an advisory capacity, and increasingly so, during the
preliminary design phase. When the project is released for final
engineering, this position assumes full responsibility for the
architectural design aspects of the total task. The Chief
Architect evaluates bid proposals, verifies that shop drawings
comply with the design and routinely makes inspections during
field installation. <br> <br>The incumbent participates in the
preparation of labor-hour estimates for the design activities,
delegates assignments, provides fundamental technical and
scheduling guidance to subordinates, supervises their activities,
as well as reviews and approves drawings and specifications
before issue. <br><br><B>Requirements: </b><br>The prerequisites
for this position include a four or five-year degree in
architecture with a minimum of ten years of experience as an
Architect, three of which should be in a supervisory capacity,
and professional registration as an Architect in at least one
