Established, multifaceted, agricultural entity located in South Central
California, has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant / Analyst. This is
a long-term career opportunity, with considerable advancement potential.
This position presents an opportunity for an experienced individual with a
strong accounting background (preferably in agriculture) to handle all
aspects of water usage analysis/reporting and accounting.
Responsibilities
§ Process all water payments and handle/coordinate day to day
relations with water districts
§ Record monthly water usage from internal meter readings into the
general ledger
§ Reconcile and record monthly gains/losses related to district
versus internal usage
§ Update/reconcile water bank inventory system (access tables)
§ Organize, analyze, and distribute water pool and bank information
§ Organize and coordinate generation of monthly water outlook
reporting with various summaries of water deals
§ Reconcile/maintain district entitlement allocation in property
system
§ Preparation of annual water pool and bank budgets
§ Review/reconcile various key accounts in water company's general
ledger
§ Handle year end accounting duties related to water
§ Maintain/develop standard water rates
§ Oversee/coordinate weekly usage inputs into water usage system
Qualifications
§ Degree in Accounting
§ 2 to 5 years related accounting experience, providing evidence of
strong analytical skills
§ Knowledge of relational databases, including the use of database
query tools/report writers
§ Proficient with Excel
§ Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects
§ Strong written and verbal communication skills
