A company near Santa Barbara seeks a motivated, experienced and
dedicated person to join as a System Administrator. This is a
permanent, full-time position reporting to the Head of Technology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for network
administration and desktop support in a client-server environment. The
System Administrator develops and monitors policies, procedures and
standards to ensure the department meets system reliability/
availability, data integrity, security, and business continuity
requirements.
Note: This client is moving towards outsourcing and cloud computing,
so they are looking for someone who has already been through such a
migration. You will be tasked with creating a roadmap for determining
what tasks and services to keep in-house, what to outsource, how to
share responsibilities, and how to manage the vendors.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has assisted a lead SA do
the above, and who is ready to take on such responsibilities him/
herself.
Additional responsibilities:
o. Manage and maintain corporate-wide network and Windows servers
o. Manage backup/restore procedures
o. Job scheduling
o. Manage email SPAM filters
o. Enforce security guidelines for production database access
o. Manage the business continuity process
o. Administer and support desktop applications
o. Perform on-call duties, system implementations and upgrades that
may occur after normal business hours and on weekends as required to
minimize business impact
Requirements:
o. 7+ years of experience in network administration (Required)
o. Solid experience administering MS Exchange Server, MS SQL Servers,
and Windows-based network equipment (Required)
o. Experience migrating a company towards outsourcing and cloud
computing (Required)
o. BS degree or higher degree (Absolutely Required)
o. Previous experience in a bank or investment company a major plus
