PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

03/2002 to the Present
City of Trenton Public Library, Trenton, New Jersey
Network Administrator I, IT Department Head

· Plan, manage, and implement an Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000
migration, utilizing three Exchange server clusters, and a Windows
2000 migration from a Windows NT 4.0 network, which involves 65 users,
5 sites, 1 domain, 3 servers, and 95 workstations. Implement asset
management plan for inventorying existing computer equipment, which
enables the company to better account for equipment. Responsible for
analyzing, evaluating and troubleshooting hardware and server
problems, associated with Windows NT4/2000 running both TCP/IP and
IPX/SPX protocols, by performing server upgrades and implementation of
updates and patches on a systematic basis.

· Developed a daily, weekly and monthly logging system, outlining
steps and/or procedures used to resolve various and/or future helpdesk
and/or network/system conflicts that can be called up by subject
and/or date. Streamlined access nodes, wiring and cabling of the
entire system.

· Supervise SIRSI's Unix based to TLC Windows based Oracle 8 database
conversion. Administer/engineer 5 sites containing 200+ nodes and
access points. Supervised upgrades of Windows 3.x and 9x client
operating systems to Windows XP Professional.

· Engineered and installed 36 Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation granted
PCs. Increase available bandwidth on LAN by 40 percent and on WAN by
30 percent by improving Windows NT/42000 site design and replication,
reducing WINS traffic, and deploying DNS servers to multiple sites.

· Manage a 1-person team to build a hardware/software/network/security
infrastructure, with full backup and disaster recovery, to support a
web based business expecting more than 10,000 hits per day, along with
an ASP hosting facility, running on Windows/NT/2000, and ORACLE.

· Responsible for maintaining 1 Cisco 2500 series, 8 Ascend Pipeline
50 ISDN routers, 1 Cisco 2700 Switch, Microsoft ISA, SonicWall and
SmoothWall firewalls. Expert proactive and reactive securing of
network assets using firewalls, anti-virus devices and/or software,
NTFS, and User/Group permissions. Developed safe network device usage
and security protocol guidelines. Established service agreements,
developed purchase contacts and maintain a positive, working
relationship with the following national and/or local IT vendors:
