JOB TITLE: Director of Radiation (Oncology)
LOCATION: Grand Rapids, US-MI
JOB TYPE: Direct
SALARY : $115000 - $130000


DESCRIPTION:
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Radiation Therapy, Health Care Administration or related
health field. Masters degree preferred. Ten or more years of health care
experience with five years of progressively responsible management experience.
State licensure in Radiation Therapy. Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT).
Experience working in an organization of size and complexity comparable to
Trauma I Health System

Plans, organizes, controls and directs all functions of the Radiation Oncology
Department. Coordinates and implements Radiation Therapy programs, policies
and procedures and assumes the responsibility Plans, organizes, controls and
directs all functions of the Radiation Oncology Department. for ensuring that
all programs meet hospital accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.
Directs the delivery of patient care, ensuring that patient care is provided
according to established standards of care and practice.


Plans, organizes and directs all activities of nurses, therapists, technicians
and support personnel who provide radiation therapy to oncology patients.
Directs all Radiation Therapists engaged in x-ray beam and source material
radiation, generated by or emanating from a variety of equipment such as linear
accelerators, Betatron, Maxitron and Brachytron, to treat deep and superficial
lesions. Ensures that all procedures are performed according to physician
orders and are consistent with current policy and procedure and legal
regulations.

Plans and organizes the timely processing of all procedures’ results so they
are available for physicians’ and/or other medical professionals’ diagnosis.
Ensures results are processed and stored in a manner consistent with current
policy and procedure.

Directs and oversees that all radiation therapy equipment is operating in
compliance with manufacturer’s specifications, within radiation control
regulations and according to policy, procedure and legal requirements. Ensures
the acceptance performance testing of all new equipment and any written
acceptance testing standards as needed.
