Hi,

I am a day trader and currently have a account with Datek. To place a
order Datek is ok, it is cheap. But I find the their real time quote is
not exciting. To get a quote I have to constantly click the "get quote"
button. The quote only gives me how many shares have been traded so far,
but it does not give me an idea what kind of orders others are entering
now, which indicates how the market will go in the next minute.

I'd like to subscribe a good real time quote,

1. Automatic real time feed, no more click

2. The quote is tick by tick, show all the orders that are entered by
others

3. If possible, I wish I could monitor two quotes at same time.

Also, where I could get real time automatic news feed, currently I am
using yahoo, which is at least 30 minutes delay and is useless.

It seems I need a professional package.

Thanks

Alan

Note: With Datek you can get multiple quotes by typing in all the symbols
you want seperated by commas. The system remembers your last request so
you only need to click the "get quote" button to update all the quotes...

For quotes, Go to http://www.elitetrader.com
Click on "data vendors"
Looks like A-T is (or was) offering a 2 week trial
at a reasonable price. There are other links there.
Also, check
www.casecom.com
www.wwquote.com
At one time, pcquote and casecom was offering a trial
period. Don't know about now.

As for news, I don't know.

Yeah, I went to Elite Trade and from there I picked up the AT online for
2 weeks trial with NASDAQ level 2 quote which costs me $70. The normal
subscription is $125 a month with Nasdq level 2, Reuter real time News.
The thing amazes me is that I have to fill and fax back 35 pages
application form and wait for the software to be mailed to me instead of
online downloading. This is unbelieveable for the electronic era.

Does anyone has any experience with AT? Is it reliable? Is the quote
really real time? I do not know whether I could test it out in two
weeks.

I also want to know your experience with PC Quote which costs $250 with
NASDAQ level 2.

I think that Interquote is the best real time quote service. It is the fastest
that we have tested(myself and 3 other daytraders I trade with every day). We
have tried it side by side to almost all others. TDN is right there with it and
so is Track Online-MXNT. Interquote is the best for the money because of it's
speed, low cost, and the customizable layouts. We have set up a template for
Interquote that is very easy to read and makes it easier to see the buying and
selling pressure of a stock. Besides all the other info that IQ gives you, we
have set it up so that so you can see every trade size, blue for at ask and red
for at bid and black between the spread. By seeing all the trades and their size,
with experience this will tell you which way the stock is likely to go. get in
right before it upticks and out just before a stock downticks. Also the template
alerts you when the stock is at the high or low of the day. Then of course you
have all the standard Interquote alert features too: volume alerts, trade size
alerts, high and low alerts and a bunch of other stuff. Anyone who wants a copy
of our custom template just e-mail, I'll send you a copy free. No I'm not
affiliated with Interquote in any way, it's just a great service. Matter of fact
I don't use Interquote anymore, I now use Track Online-MXNT and we'll get into
that later.

I'll go over some of the other quote services we've used and their features:
TDN:
fast and reliable, can be used with their standard software or Ensign software.
Ensign costs about $39 more per month to add on and is real nice. Very nice
charts and gives you alerts for all the best % gainers and losers, unusual
trading volumes ect. in real time. This lets you know what the real plays are in
the market. You get some news feeds and you can set keyword alerts and alerts on
the stocks you are following. This would be great if it was in real time, it's
not. You can get Dow Jones headlines and stories for $39 per month but this isn't
real time either. The salesman(not Kevin Lee) who set me up with TDN said it was
but it's all delayed news. I was skeptical of this since my fellow trader who had
real time news pays thousands of dollars for his news feeds.

BMI
Very similar to TDC and you can use the great Ensign software with it also.
Quotes are slower then TDN and Interquote, but who's aren't:) Used with satellite
or your cable TV for input. More expensive then TDC. But they have a feature
that nobody else offers. for $79 additional you can get Dow Jones Broadtape
Headline news in real time. Headlines only, but this is nice, and the only way
you can get real time news in any way without paying the big bucks. Others claim
real time but if you are using these other services and not paying out the nose
for real time news, you will find that the play is over by the time you get the
news. hehe

Comstock and A-T Financial

Interquote has faster quotes and easier to read. All the news feeds are old news.

Now both these services offer level 2 . We have found that level 2 is nothing but
a distraction. You don't need it. Interquote with my custom template is better.

Track Online MX-NT

This is the ultimate. This is what we now use. So many features that is is
unbelievable. Anything you want to know- bam it's there. So much more advanced
compared to anything else there is no comparison. This is used with the REAL real
time news. You pick which services you want to pay for.
I would recommend these news services: Comdex, Dow Jones News, Dow Jones Pro
Investor reports, PR Newswire, Reuters, Business wire and Fed Filings. This will
cost you over 1K per month, but if you are a good experienced daytrader, you
should be able to pay for the service by lunch. Any stock you are following you
are alerted to any news. You can even just watch all the news flow in if you
want, but we are talking thousands of stories. You can use filters and keywords
to filter the news too. Example: FDA approval or record earnings. You're sitting
there and hey your alert goes off, a company just got FDA approval for a new drug
ect. hmm, should I buy? You bet, you got the news way before most anyone else.
Place the buy order and hang on. YEHA!!!

Some thoughts:
Don't even try to daytrade till you have papertraded( pretend trading) every day
for at least 2 or 3 months. Watch how stocks trade. Watch how they are effected
by news. Daytrading is not gambling it is taking all the available history, news
and your experience in reading the news and putting all these variables together
and trying to make the right decision. After a while you will find that each
stock has it's own personality. After a while it's almost like you can feel
what's happening. And there is no substute for hard work. We work at this usually
12 hours per day. But the rewards can be great.

I am not trying to portray myself as a bragging arrogant liar as Elixir has
already called me. I am just trying to help. So I hope this helps.

Hi Steve,

Thanks a lot for your detailed comparison. Though I am trying AT
financial to take advantage of the NASDAQ level 2 quote, I started try
the delayed Interquote five days ago. Would you please send me your
template for the Interquote? Thank you.

Do you think the NASDAQ level 2 is a distraction even I only concentrate
on one or two stocks each day? I am kind new to this and started to
trade stock three months ago, currently gain 50%, down from the 85% gain
one week ago. Watch my gain loosing gradully make me to decide to use a
more meaningful real time quote.

Would you please also give me the web site for the Track On-line if it
is handy?
