This is one of those tell all weeks. Lots of support and resistance
going on in the coming week. A majority of the articles that I have
read indicate a bias toward the downside. I think it will be one of
those whiplash weeks where we have a 200 point down day followed by a
150 point up and maybe repeat again until one side wins.

maybe for the mids, lows & micros

I think the INDUS, COMP & SP500
pretty much go sideways in a trading range
benefitting from window dressing for end of year reports

ergo mids, lows & micros will be sold for losses for tax purposes and
bought right back again in Jan 2010

Since options expire on Friday, I expect a big move.

Either a big move up or one down. Since the last several weeks have been
up, if Monday, Tuesday are unchanged, then OE is down.

If Monday or Tuesday are down, then OE will be up.

I vote for the latter. Monday will tell.

Vito

OK, Monday is up pretty big so far, so we'll put you down for
a big down move on Friday...at this rate, I can confidently predict
this thread will contain a LOT of bad predictions about the
market direction this week...

One of those predictions was that Bill Reid would win a 12MM jackpot
from me. In reality, Bill now owes me $917. So much for Bill's
forecasting abilities.

Interesting take in Barron's last week. Huge Wall Street bonuses
this year depend on the market staying up through year end.
Manipulation, anyone? Where is Aero when you need him?

OK, the week is over, we can now tally up and bad AND
good predictions...

The DJIA closed UP about 48 points compared to
last Friday's close, so "DraggonFodder" continues
his self-confessed complete inability to predict the
market, especially considering he was predicting
200 point moves up AND down for this week
as well, which did not occur.

Also, all the people who predicted a big move on
Friday due to options expiration similarly blew it
considering the actual meager 14 point "move",
so "Uncle Vito" can also enter the hall of shame
with all the other people who made that
prediction, and gets an extra bad prediction
credit for being incorrect that if Monday/Tuesday
was up big Friday would be down big. Special
mention goes to "Tony" who claimed that Friday
would be another big down day if Thursday was
a big down day.

And we can't ignore our beloved Michael
"Lowbrow" Tenenbaum, who continues with
his perfect posting record of never telling the
truth, being even slightly relevant, or exhibiting
the slightest shred of sanity...

But we also have two posters who basically
got it right: "ausound" and "d.", but should they
be docked because their predictions were
based on conspiracy theories like all the
bad predictions?

What about your predicition about beating the quash motion and picking
up a $12MM jackpot from me? It seems that your FAILURE to forecast
ANYTHING is the reason you told Judge Emerson you don't have a pot to
piss in.

And for the record:

Reid v. Buffetthater DISMISSED
Reid v. TrailerTrash DISMISSED
Reid v. Lubow SUMMONS AND COMPLAINT QUASHED

Bill, your record of dismal failure continues unabated. Keep up the
Reid tradition of failure and with a little luck a kindly Federal
Judge will spot you a grand or so when you repeat the poverty story
you told in Superior Court.

Hey, I forecast this, right in the post you are responding to:

"And we can't ignore our beloved Michael
"Lowbrow" Tenenbaum, who continues with
his perfect posting record of never telling the
truth, being even slightly relevant, or exhibiting
the slightest shred of sanity..."

I'M ONE FOR ONE ON THAT!!!!

Hey, Bill, I'm game. Tell us what the truth about Bill Reid is. Is
the truth what you had SWORN to Judge Emerson, i.e., that you don't
have a pot to piss in or is the truth that your SWORN UNDER PENALTY OF
PERJURY financial statement is bogus?

And since you are so fond of citing Shirley MacLaine vs. the National
Enquirer, "Enquiring minds want to know."
