I got a call from a broker yesterday about heating oil. Can you give me the
name or ticker of any companies that produce/sell heating oil, or can I only
trade this through the futures exchange.

Thanks

Tim

I doubt, but am willing to be corrected, that there are any solely heating
oil producers or distributers. Most refiners will produce heating oil along
with other refined products - same with distributors. A couple of companies
that are primarily refiners are SUN and VLO.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping there would be a smaller refiner who
concentrated on heating oil that would benefit from increased consumption
during the colder weather around Christmas. So much for that idea. I've
read the profiles on Yahoo! finance and message boards on Google but found
nothing on specialised sellers. Any that turned up were small cos that only
serviced a small area and not were not listed on the stock exchange.

I really like Valero. Real growth story but can't seem to explain why it's
dropping when crude is going up. Maybe it is dropping like it did last year
around the beginning of August.

All refiners adjust their production at different times of the year.
Besides, gasoline is probably the most profitable.
