Sorry if I'm posting to the wrong group, but I saw on Google that
similar questions have been posted here before...if there's a more
appropriate group, please let me know.
I'm from the UK, but I studied at a US University and graduated in
2002. In order to do this, I took out three TERI loans through
American Education Services (www.aessuccess.org).
I'm now living back in the UK, and I'd like to consolidate my loans
for the sake of convenience if nothing else. Paying my monthly
installments has been a real pain because of AES' inflexibility - the
only way I can pay is by cheque, and it takes weeks for the money to
be converted to dollars, so I never know if I really am behind on my
payments.
The obvious answer would be to pay by credit card, but AES don't
accept them and tell me that they have no plans to do so in the
future. I find this very frustrating, as this is the only form of
payment that Sallie Mae will accept for my wife's loan repayments.
So, basically speaking, I want to consolidate my loans with someone
who'll accept credit card payments, and I have no idea where to start.
If anyone can offer any advice or help, I'd be very grateful :-)
Many thanks,
Dr Aye.
