New 1904 and Hearing Loss

Looks like hell has frozen over - the revision to CFR 1904 was published in

today's (Friday, 1/19/01) Federal Register. Inetersting implications for

hearing loss -

- 10 dB STS will be recordable. This makes the recordkeeping rule match

up to the Hearing Conservation Amendment, but is a significant tightening

from the previous federal 25 dB recordability criteria.

- Separate reporting area on Form 300 for hearing loss - maybe we can get

a national handle on occurance and depth of this issue on a national level

at last.
