This is turning into a nightmare. I'll start from the beginning.

I work for an environmental remediation company, often on the road. We are
based in New York, where my mailing address and permanent residence is. I am
out of town working alot, sometimes for several months at a time. I have
Progressive insurance under my (permanent) NY address. I am currently
working in New Jersey, living in company housing (I pay no rent or utils
btw). A few weeks ago I backed into my roomate in the company housing
driveway, called Progressive and filed a claim.

Progressive just sent me a notice that my policy address has been changed to
the company housing address (where I won't be for too long), and to change
it back I need to send proof of residence consisting of utility bills and
formal lease. To top it off since Progressive (and many others) do not write
in NJ, my policy will be "maked for non-renewal" (ie. cancelled) unless I
send proof of residence.

Well, being on the road so much, I stay at my parent's when I'm in NY and
just pay them some scratch every month, so I have no utility bills or formal
lease agreement to give proof of address.

Man I wish I just payed that claim out of pocket!

But anyway, I can't even get a NJ driver's license, or insurance for that
matter because I'm not on the lease in NJ either (it's paid by the company),
as if insurance in NJ wasn't hard enough to get!

Any other "road warriors" in this boat? As I see it to get any insurance
I'll have to rent a place for the sole purpose of getting a lease.

I greatly appreciate any thoughts or advice on this matter.
Thanks alot!!
