Dear Group Members.,

I have a situation here.
I am on a work permit for 2 years (Multiple entry) in canada. My wife
came to canada 3 months before me and she came on a student visa
(Multiple entry) valid till July 2009.

Once I came here, she changed her mind and dropped her masters and
came to live with me.
That time I applied for a dependent WORK PERMIT for her and we got it.
We also applied for SIN number. It is valid until my work permit is
valid.

Now she has a DEPENDENT WORK PERMIT (A paper issued by the Govt) and
STUDENT VISA (a sticker stuck on her passport)

Now she had to go back to india on emergency.
when she comes back in 2 months, will she face any problems because of
the student visa.

Should that STUDENT VISA be changed to DEPENDENT VISA or it really
doesn't matter. With the work permit and the student VISA can she re-
enter canada?

She is no more going to school and has nothing to do with the
university. But the visa doesn't have any stamp on it saying it is
cancelled.

Please reply.
Thanking you guys in advance.

I can recall Immigration stating that any valid visa is acceptable. I
don't recall where I heard this, but I was told a few months ago that
any valid visa is acceptable for entry, even if the original reason
for traveling here has changed.

I think you should call the call center (1 888-242-2100) and see what
their consensus is. She should certainly take her work permit with
her.

There is no "Dependant" visa anyway.
