You have a three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and
at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study.
22

You have a university degree of two years or more at the bachelor's
level and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 20

It seems to me it could be 22, because 4yr college is more than 3 yrs, but
on the other hand, univesity of 2 or more years include the 4 yr college.

the total years of education after college is 4+6+6=16

Sorry, but for single Bachelor's degree it is only 20 points, regardless how
many years of education over required 14 years you have.

That rather annoyed me, that they were discounting the fact that in the US
(at least) a bachelor's degree is a four-year degree (which many people,
myself included, still cannot achieve in only four years). It seemed to be
selling short the extra year of work we apparently have to do versus
Canadians (for which I think we should get credit) by equating "bachelor's"
with "bachelor's". Feh.

The purpose is not to downgrade a bachelor's degree but to provide some
extra points for technical and trade occupations that do not require a
degree. Otherwise they would have almost no chance to succeed.

And those skilled trades people with trade their non-university certificates
are more in demand in Canada then those with basic Bachelor's degree. No
offence intended but we have oversupply of Bachelor degree holders while
market experiences critical shortage of skilled trade workers. Thus trade
certificates weigh more than Bachelor degree - simple supply and demand
matter.
