This is a formal Moderator Vacancy Investigation (MVI), indicating
that the moderated newsgroup misc.health.injuries.rsi.moderated is not
functioning, and may have been abandoned by its moderator of record.
This announcement initiates a formal investigation of the reasons for
non-function, and perhaps proceedings to install a new moderator.
To discuss the issues affecting the group, the proposed new moderator,
or to provide information regarding the moderator of record, please
respond to this thread in the news.groups newsgroup.
If you *are* the moderator of record, and retain an interest in the
group, please reply to this investigation announcement immediately.
These proceedings will be adjusted accordingly if the moderator of record
appears and re-asserts control of the group. They may be halted entirely,
or shift to discuss a technical problem which may have adversely affected
the functioning of the group.
Unless the moderator appears, the presumption of this investigation
is that a vacancy exists, and that a new moderator is needed. The MVI
procedure is initiated only when such a presumption exists, formed due
to both absence of postings in the group and absence of response from
the moderator.
Pending the confirmation of a vacancy, and the successful completion
of these proceedings, a new moderator will be installed on a probationary
basis at the discretion of the news.announce.newgroups moderation team.
The status with regard to finding a new moderator is as follows:
Brian Edmonds <br...@gweep.ca> has volunteered to moderate. Brian
is also willing to serve as the technical moderator, if another
moderator volunteers to handle the content decisions.

and probation status/non-status are pending. Moderators installed by
vote during a RFD/CFV, or given the group by proxy from such an installed
moderator, are not subject to probation.

An MVI (Moderator Vacancy Investigation) was recently conducted for the
non-functioning moderated newsgroup misc.health.injuries.rsi.moderated.
That investigation determined two things: 1) There was no active
moderator, and 2) there was no one interested in the newsgroup.
In addition, there are two alternate, low-volume Big Eight newsgroups
which cover the same topic: misc.health.injuries.rsi.misc and
sci.med.occupational.
The newsgroup misc.health.injuries.rsi.moderated has therefore been
removed from the list of active Big Eight newsgroups, and control messages
have been issued accordingly.
